My name is Stuart Grief. I'm a 55-year-old, semi-retired husband of an amazing wife and father of two young ladies. Amy is my wife of 30+ years (I've now stopped counting) and has been an unflappable partner even as life got really complicated (keep reading). Jordan, pictured on the left, is our eldest and lives in Los Angeles where she's working hard to build a career producing television. Preferably comedy. Brooke, pictured on the right, is working closer to home in Boston where she's building her skills in digital marketing and social media.
In August, 2014, I was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. A shock for anyone. Even more so for a non-smoker. The initial prognosis was as devastating as the diagnosis. The word "months" was all I heard. But with unbending support from Amy and the girls, and remarkable medical science and practice from my care team at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, I'm still here. Savoring every day and experience.
Oh and that's our 2-year-old golden, Sadie, in the happiest place she can be: with a tennis ball on a pile of snow. Life is good.
